2003 Election Notice

Nominations have been requested on the Listserv for several officer positions on the Executive Board of the Association of Directors of Psychology Training Clinics.  The officer positions included President-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer, and two Member-at-Large positions.  Individuals who were nominated or self-nominated have been asked to submit a 150-300 word statement of: (a) position and length of service in their respective Clinic, (b) previous experiences with ADPTC or other organizations that support their nomination,

(c) the position they are nominated or self-nominated for, and (d) why they would like to serve on the Executive Committee and tasks they would like to accomplish/issues they would like to promote.  These statements were to be received by June 15, 2003.

Elections will be held on the ADPTC Website at www.adptc.org.  We are hoping that have the electronic election up and running from June 15th to July 15th.  Our

current President, Lee Cooper, will work with Ryan Sexton, our Webmaster, to receive the tally of the votes and report the election outcome by the listserv to members by July 31st.  If a member is not able to access the website, please notify Lee Cooper at ldcooper@vt.edu and you will be sent a ballot by postal mail.  Elected officers will assume their respective position at the ADPTC annual business meeting on Wednesday, August 6th, 2003 at the APA Annual Convention in Toronto.

Executive Committee Positions

Lee Cooper has  provided a description of duties associated with each of the Executive Committee positions listed in the Call for Nominations.

President-Elect: Assists the current President in presiding over Executive Committee meetings, the annual business meeting, and mid-year meeting. Responsible for the Newsletter being published three times year or authorizing a representative to do so.  May also be asked to attend or represent ADPTC at meetings, conferences, and/or workshops in place of the President.  It should be noted that this position is a six-year position comprised

with the President, for authorizing ADPTC expenditures and recording income and expenses.  Provides a report of ADPTC finances at the annual business meeting and mid-year meeting.  Maintains a membership database and coordinates meeting room reservations for the annual APA meetings. 
Member-at-Large: Chairs a standing committee such as Programming, Resources, Survey etc., and for maintaining the activities associated with that committee (e.g., putting together the Pre-APA workshop).  The President can authorize a Member-at-Large to Chair a committee or the representative can self-select one.
